Outreach in Glasgow!

This is from an email I sent out a couple of days ago, so it's not something you need to pray about, but I wanted to post it anyway.

This is just a quick update and a wee request for prayer tonight!

For the past several weeks I (Lance) have been working with a couple of ministries here in our area called Healing Rooms and Light & Life that have both been experiencing the power and presence of God in some really cool ways. I shared some of these testimonies here on our Blog a couple of months ago. Well, we are having a big Light and Life event in Glasgow tonight, and we would really appreciate your prayers for us. The event will take place in the Radisson Hotel right in the heart of Glasgow. We seek to do these events in prominent venues in the city to reach out to people who would likely never go to a church. There will be a team of over 100 people doing ministry both in the hotel as well as out on the streets. We are praying for and expecting God to meet people in dramatic ways through prophetic words, physical healing, and most importantly through a revelation of the person of Jesus and His love for them. The event will start at 7pm Scotland time (2pm Eastern Standard Time).

To stir up your faith and encourage you, here's a quick testimony of how the Light & Life event went in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago written by Barbara Jenkinson the director of Light & Life ... enjoy!

"As I write this I’m still a bit bleary eyed… I got back at 2:30 this morning after an incredible night at the Light & Life outreach at the Roxburghe, in Edinburgh. Andy & Lisa Robb led the event with a small army of volunteers – many of them new, all of them desperate to partner with God and see His awesome love, power and miracles poured out into the lives of those who are lost, lonely and hurting. As we met, the thick weighty presence of God fell.

The doors opened at 8pm and about 70 hungry seekers streamed in, all of them desperate to hear what God had to say in their lives. Six people got saved on the spot and many others had life changing experiential encounters with God.

We’re still gathering testimonies but here are some of the reports so far…

o Sarah, an artist from Edinburgh, had motor neurone disease and could no longer use her hands to paint or draw. Distraught, she was ready to give her easel and art materials away. But the Holy Spirit had other ideas…

Sarah received two prophetic words (from different stations) saying that God wanted to restore and unlock her creativity. She then visited the healing stall and God completely removed the pain from her hands. She left with full feeling and functionality. Looks like she’ll be keeping her art stuff after all!

o Aida, a Muslim lady from Egypt, received prophetic words that just blew her away. Within a few moments she’d asked Jesus into her life and then sat beaming for the rest of the evening just soaking up His presence. Aida’s son had given his life to Jesus in March. YES!!!!!

o Dinnat, was on holiday from the South of France and came along to see what was happening at the hotel. He was completely undone by the presence of God and asked Jesus to come into his life at the healing stall.

o Julie had been through a difficult year and came along, unsure of what to expect. The Holy Spirit gently highlighted parts of her journey and then brought her incredible healing and peace. She was so stunned by His tangible presence, she couldn’t wait to ask Jesus into her life.

o Angie, a spiritualist and white witch, came out of desperation. Her son had been diagnosed with colitis and Angie had lost hope of seeing him healed. She’d tried all sorts of spiritual healers and spells (at great cost) and nothing had happened. As we prophesied over her, she was stunned at the words of knowledge, hope and love that God released. After a few moments, she opened up about her son and asked if our God could heal him. We prayed in faith for his healing and Tom gave her an anointed prayer cloth to take away. Watch this space….

The Glory of God was so thick last night that our volunteers still shone as they left the building. Lennie (one of our leaders) stopped off at a chip shop on the way home and found herself prophesying over the Muslim shop keeper (Ibo). Her friends, Jen, Kat and Johnny joined in. As they released words of knowledge and prophecy, his demeanour completely changed from being sceptical to being fully open to what God had to say. He was so impacted when God revealed accurate details about his heart, character and business, that he asked the Holy Spirit to come into his life and teach him about the one true God!

Whilst there, Ibo’s friend (with a back injury) came into the shop. Ibo told his friend that if he’d let the guys pray for him, he’d get healed! His friend agreed, the guys prayed, and God instantly healed him! Within minutes he was stretching, touching his toes and rejoicing. YES JESUS!!!

As mentioned, many of the team were new to this type of outreach, and I am so proud of each and every one of them. Each volunteer chose to take a risk in God, they stepped out in faith, and God came through for them.

As God continues to pour out His Spirit, we have the opportunity of partnering with an amazing God, and enjoying the ride of our lives. Let’s just do it and see the renaissance of our nation."

Many Blessings,
Lance and Heather
